Walked in memory – Walked in support!

Last Sunday, Phoenix Truck & Crane gathered a team of friends & family in Port Coquitlam to show their support to a unique national fundraising event – one that increases awareness and raises funds to help palliative and supportive care programs.

Supporting the 15th annual Hike for Hospice event as a presenting sponsor was an easy decision for us, as we wanted to honour the memory of the loved ones we lost in our 26 years in business. Our Phoenix family has had its fair share of loss and recognizes the amazing work that Crossroads Hospice Society lends to our community – a place that does not only provide compassionate care to those affected by the end-of-life experience, but also establishes a connection with others to decrease the isolation that grief brings.

Along with our 19 Phoenix hikers, the event counted 378 participants, which made it the best attended hike to date! Participants walked, ran, strolled and even wheeled through the 5 km trail, with our Phoenix group staying tightly together.

Congratulations to the event organizers for making this a positive, well-attended and memorable experience and raising $45,000! Kudos to everyone who participated – from young to old – walking the trails with us and raising funds and attention to such a worthwhile cause.
