Proud to Support, Proud to Belong

Some evenings leave a lasting impression, and the Second Annual PoCo Mayor’s Charity Gala was certainly one of them.

This year, we had the honour of participating in the event for the first time as the Presenting Sponsor, and what an incredible introduction it was.

As a company that has proudly served the Tri-Cities for more than three decades, and with our office and yard now located in Port Coquitlam, supporting local initiatives is something that has always been important to us. When the opportunity was presented to be involved in an event dedicated to giving back to our community, it was an easy decision.

What made the evening especially memorable was that nearly 20 members of the Phoenix Truck & Crane team attended. With crane operators, drivers, dispatchers, office staff, managers, and ownership, our team was proudly represented throughout the ‘room’ or shall we say the tent . While we spend every day working together, opportunities to gather outside of work are rare, making the gala a fantastic team-building experience.

The evening also brought together other local businesses, community leaders, residents, and Firefighters supporters for a celebration of community spirit and generosity. We enjoyed great food, live entertainment, meaningful conversations, and plenty of laughter throughout the night.

One of the highlights of the evening was learning more about the incredible work performed by the Port Coquitlam Professional Firefighters Charitable Society. We all know firefighters for the work they do responding to emergencies, but the gala provided an opportunity to better understand the many ways they also support local families, children, students, and community organizations throughout the year.

The event raised more than $100,000 to support those local initiatives and charitable programs, including Breakfast Buddies and other community-based programs that help children and families throughout the Tri-Cities, and if you want to see a little video of the children whose lives will be positively impacted by these programs, HERE it is for you.
