Now Hiring – Crane Dispatch Assistant

Scope

The Crane Dispatch Assistant is an entry level position with opportunity for growth. This position is based within a fast-paced department and requires someone who has a positive attitude, is an excellent multi-tasker and enjoys and thrives in an environment that is ever changing. The Crane Dispatch Assistant is responsible for entering information in the computer dispatch software, call taking, liaising between dispatchers, sales, crane operators, and customers.

This role will report to the General Manager and the Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working team player with excellent computer skills and fast and accurate typing abilities. They work well in stressful situations and thrive in fast-paced environments.

Job Description Details

  • Answer customer calls and enter orders into computer dispatch software
  • Assist dispatch to plan, coordinate and schedule jobs
  • Assist dispatch to ensure the crane operators have proper instructions to perform their
    duties safely
  • Assist dispatch to make all necessary bookings for permits, pilot cars, etc.
  • Liaise with customers, sales, operations, vendors, etc.
  • Reply to emails in a professional manner
  • Follow all workplace safety policies

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy
  • Ability to remain calm while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently and professionally, pivot and multi-task when called
    upon
  • Trucking industry knowledge/experience an asset
