Launching New Boat Docks for the City of Vancouver

Last week, our team had the pleasure of working on a project for the City of Vancouver, assisting in launching new boat docks while removing those in need of repairs. The setting was breathtaking, with the serene waters of Burrard Marina providing a stunning backdrop against the city’s high-rises.

We started our day early, arriving at the yard for the Burrard Civic Marina to load the pieces onto our trailers. Our largest hiab crane, unit #5160 was accompanied by a 32-foot trailer, while tractor #5024 hauled a 40-foot trailer. With everything securely loaded, our trucks made the short drive to the marina. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a warm glow over the water and city skyline.

Once at the Vanier boat pier, the real work began. Despite the complexities of working with water pressure and rigging the older pieces from the dock, our team handled everything with expertise. Our crane operator and tractor drivers worked in tandem, making a complex job look effortless.

The team from the City of Vancouver were incredible partners throughout the project. Their assistance and positive attitude made the entire process smooth and efficient. The collaborative spirit between our teams ensured that the job was executed on schedule.

As the day progressed, we couldn’t help but admire the views. The marina, with its calm waters and the city towering in the distance, offered some of the best sunrises we’ve seen. It was a reminder of why we love what we do, combining technical skill with the beauty of our surroundings.

Well done and thanks to all involved. If another opportunity arises to assist with similar tasks, we will be there without hesitation. The combination of a challenging job, stunning surroundings, and a fantastic team made this experience unforgettable. For now, we look forward to our next ‘water adventure’.
