How did you step into 2021?

A simple question with so many possible answers… At Phoenix Truck & Crane,  we chose to have a positive outlook and provide opportunities of growth within our team to kick-off 2021, and so far we’re on track.

Phoenix has a culture of promoting and providing opportunities of growth from within the company. Whenever possible, team members are given the option to learn and pivot within – and never has this been more apparent than in the first few months of 2021.

This year has seen two ‘new’ reps join the sales department. New to sales – but definitely not new to Phoenix. After 23 years in crane dispatch and 15 years working as company crane operator, Richie and Shane have started their careers as Technical Sales Reps. We are excited to have their years of experience and customer relationships brought to the sales department.

These moves had an obvious impact in the areas of dispatch and crane operating, which we were able to fill from within – as well as with a few new faces. Kevin has spent 10 years working in almost every department at Phoenix – and has now begun training to support hiab dispatch. Also filling those openings is Scott (hiab dispatch) and Ryan (company crane operator). All are still in the early stages of training, but we’re very excited to get to work with them all.

Recruiting hard working and committed employees can be tough; one way that has been successful for Phoenix over the yeas has been hiring family members of current employees. Some may call it nepotism, but when that family member hired is qualified for the position, we call it smart business. This is how two of our junior employees have made it our way, and we are thrilled to welcome Miranda and Raelynne to the administration and operations departments.

After a tough 2020 for so many businesses, we feel encouraged by the first quarter of 2021. We welcome all of our new members to the team and are very excited to hear their ideas and work together to make this year the best yet!
