HIRING – Junior Crane Dispatcher

Scope

The Junior Crane Dispatcher is responsible for supporting other crane dispatchers, performing a wide range of duties. This position will be mentored by a variety of people, very experienced in the industry; learning the fleet of cranes, tractors, and equipment, with the goal of stepping into dispatch when needed. The ideal candidate will be very precise, work hard, work well with others and in stressful situations and thrive in fast pace environments.

Job Description Details

• Answer incoming dispatch calls
• Provide quotes over the phone and in writing
• Respond to queries related to deliveries and bookings
• Apply for a variety of permits, make ferry reservations etc.
• Provide dispatch relief when needed
• Prioritize and organize calls according to urgency
• Rapidly input information into a dispatch entry system/platform (NexGen)
• Maintain and update dispatch platform (NexGen), call records and other important documentation
• Field phone calls and emails from other departments and customers
• Communicate daily with crane operators, office staff, customers
• Perform any other duties as they arise
• Be a self-starter and eager to learn

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Crane industry knowledge an asset
• Dispatch knowledge an asset
• Experience using Fleet Cost & Care  an asset
• Strong computer skills required
• Ability to remain calm while working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work both independently and in a team
• Be kind, open minded and understanding
