The work that we do helps shape our communities. Delivering materials to new developments under construction, lifting products to rooftop community gardens, contributing to the building of roadways and bridges. Last week, we had the pleasure of assisting with a job that directly impacts the ability of our neighbours to connect with each other in nature.
We were hired by the City of Port Moody to relocate two community picnic tables from Rocky Point Park’s boat launch, just a few minutes up the road to their new home at Chip Kerr Park. Our operator carefully hoisted and transported the two heavy concrete tables, using one of the many long reach Hiabs in our fleet. With precision and care, the job was completed smoothly, and efficiently.
These picnic tables are part of a meaningful sponsorship program that allows individuals, families, and local businesses to support public spaces for a ten-year period. Each table displays a plaque with the sponsor’s name, a lasting way to give back and be part of the everyday moments that happen around them. New picnic tables are currently being crafted by one of our long-time customers, known for making durable concrete products and will be delivered to Rocky Point in the near future, as it seems there’s never enough spots for friends and families to gather.
For over three decades, Phoenix has ‘lived’, worked and played in the Tri Cities. Working with the City of Port Moody on projects like this is especially meaningful. We are not just doing a job; we are contributing to the betterment of our own community.
