Exploring the Cutting-Edge World of Dental Technology

Last week, we had the opportunity to lend a hand with a seemingly routine job; picking up a 3D printer and deliver to David’s Trading. On the surface, it may have seemed like another day at work, but what made this task memorable was the opportunity to connect with a local business that’s pushing the boundaries of dental technology, Protec Dental Laboratories.

Located in the Olympic Village area of Vancouver, Protec Dental Laboratories is a leader in creating custom dental prosthetics. While we handle plenty of equipment destined for recycling, the experience at Protec was a reminder of how fascinating and diverse our customer can be. Before we even sent the crane, we were given an exclusive tour of their facility, offering us a behind the scenes look at their cutting-edge operation.

What makes Protec so special, you ask? For starters, they’ve been innovating dental technology for years. The 3D printer we picked up was their very first machine, brought into used ten years ago. It has been used to create Digital Dentures in just five hours and was a groundbreaking achievement at the time, but today’s technology has revolutionized the process. Their latest replacement machine can produce the same high-quality dentures in just twenty-four minutes. That’s right, what once took hours is now done in a fraction of the time!

Protec Dental Laboratories serves over 2,500 dentists across Canada and is considered a market leader in dental lab technology. Until last Wednesday, we were unaware that this cutting-edge business was operating right in the heart of Vancouver. Their rapid growth in recent years has led them to expand across three offices, each helping them better serve their growing clientele.

It’s not every day that we get to experience such an exciting side of the business world outside of the construction industry. While we are always grateful for the work we do, getting the chance to connect with innovative businesses and witness the future of industries like dental technology is something we truly embraced.

Well done Vancouver to be a vibrant business community, and it’s experiences like this that remind us of the importance of staying curious, learning, and growing.
