Kindness is one size fits all

As we often say, every little bit helps! And with that in mind, on February 22, 2017, the entire team at Phoenix Truck & Crane took a stand against bullying and joined the Pink Shirt Day Campaign.

As a family-owned company, Phoenix employees have always treated each other with respect. We recognize that bullying is not just something that happens in a school yard, but also in the workplace. Within our office there is no room for acts that could hurt or isolate a person. Our company is made up of people from different cultures with diverse customs, languages and traditions, and we strive to create an inclusive working environment for all.

Traditionally on Pink Shirt Day, we don our tees and order lunch for the staff. This year we went a little further and held a Pink Shirt Day Potluck. This allowed us to redirect the funds that would have been spent on lunch to the CKNW Orphans’ Fund, who have been raising money for anti-bullying programs since 2008 and distributing 100% of those proceeds to the various organizations.

Our safe work place is treasured and truly appreciated by all, which is why everyone gets onboard with this and other campaigns.  This year in addition to Pink Shirt Day, we chose to partner with the local charity I Am Someone and their fundraising efforts, by providing lunch to everyone who attended their latest event.

We are proud to be able to celebrate respectful relationships and help promote bullying prevention in the work place. Kindness looks good on everyone… so make nice!
