I can’t believe it has been 20 years since I sent my first Phoenix truck out on the road. Over the years, that truck has grown into a fleet of over 150; from cube vans to our newest purchase, a 45-ton crane.

Although it’s my 20th anniversary operating the company, it’s been almost 40 years since I began in the transportation industry, and back then, our customers’ freight needs were very different than they are today. When my first truck hit the road, the traffic was lighter and gas prices were a lot cheaper. Since then, I’ve seen construction boom that brought both jobs and people to the Lower Mainland, followed by a decline in the construction industry. These factors have encouraged us to broaden our products and services in order to provide for the varied needs of our customers.

I’ve been fortunate to own and operate this business in the Lower Mainland, and I believe that it’s my responsibility to give back to the community that has been so generous to me. We’ve had the opportunity to partner with some exciting charities that are important to me and my staff; helping raise money and awareness for such causes as cystic fibrosis, SHARE food bank, amateur sports, juvenile diabetes, and Crossroads Hospice and Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation.

It’s taken a lot of hard work to grow Phoenix into the company that it is today, by me, my family, and the hard-working staff I’ve had over the years. As far as what the future holds, no one can ever say for sure. Though continued commitment to our customers will remain my number one priority.
