North America Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week has begun

The North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week is an annual, continent-wide event that sees employers & workers collaborating to promote injury and illness prevention in the workplace. This year, the NAOSH week takes place from 6 – 12 May and Phoenix Truck & Crane is privileged to receive the NAOSH award that acknowledges our commitment to safety excellence and successful integration of a corporate culture of Health and Safety.

As many of you know, over the past 3 years we have concentrated our efforts and dedication to educate our people in order to foster a safe-minded culture. This award means the world to us as we celebrate the 2018 NAOSH week with our peers, partners and stakeholders while continuing to spread our passion for safety. NAOSH Week might only be seven days, but at Phoenix we perpetually stress the importance of maintaining our safe practices all year round and strongly believe in this year’s theme of “Make Safety a Habit”.

Safety has never been a one-and-done exercise to us so, considering that a habit is an acquired behavior pattern, an action regularly followed until it becomes almost involuntary, we lead the road in making safety a habit. Our people now subconsciously think twice before lifting or loading goods, daily we see our crane and owner operators instinctively reach for their personal protective equipment (PPE) and everyone in our team feels excited in the weeks leading up to NAOSH Week — we’re habituated! We know how essential our safety practices are and how these “rules” have kept all of us safe at work.

Thank you to Safety Driven for their guidance on being and keeping a safe structure and for always sparkling the conversation around the value of establishing awareness to embed Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) into our company!
